In this episode, we take a deep dive into Bill Gothard’s confusing—and often contradictory—definition of “convictions.” According to Gothard, convictions are unchanging, visible, and must be a core part of your daily life. But does that mean they can never evolve? And if a conviction doesn't look like something Gothard says it should, is it really just a “preference”?
We’ll explore Gothard’s flawed logic with examples like his take on addiction, leadership in the home, and even how he defines what’s “harmful” for kids. Along the way, I’ll share why this rigid framework causes more harm than good and why questioning these “convictions” can be the key to finding real freedom. Plus, I’ll be reading off the 10 key convictions from Part 25 of the series to see how they stack up against Gothard’s warped standards. Can you pass Gothard’s Conviction Quiz? I’ll let you decide after watching.
